iMobie has released its new PhoneClean device maintenance app for Windows. According to the company, PhoneClean helps to remove long-term caches, temp, and junk files from iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches without the need for jailbreaking. iMobile claims that PhoneClean can help users reclaim up to 40% of free space, and may also help improve device performance. PhoneClean requires Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8, and is available now as a free download. Why couldn't they make this an iOS app? I've got some 'catcher' apps that while the app itself is small, it catches and caches a bunch of data and stores it on the device, eating up a lot of memory. Currently if you want to clean data like that off of your device, you have to delete it from your device and then reinstall it. You'll lose all your settings, etc. by doing that. If you could just clean the data off without deleting it, or hooking up to your computer, that would be ideal. I'm sure somebody else will come up with something like this, so I'll wait patiently.
