Custom ringtones are fine, but what about when your phone is in silent mode? Here's an easy way to create custom vibrations (or pick one of 5 or 6 predone vibrations). Step 1: Go into the Settings app on your device and tap on General. Step 2: Scroll down to the bottom of the General screen and tap on Accessibility. Then under “Hearing,” turn on Custom Vibrations. Step 3: Go to your home screen and open the Phone app. Find the contact you wish to set a custom vibration for and tap on it. Step 4: Press the Edit button in the top right corner, then swipe down to “vibration” and tap on it. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on Create New Vibration. Step 5: Tap out your custom vibration pattern, then press Stop. You can now preview your vibration using the Play button, or rerecord it by pressing Record. Step 6: Once you’re happy with the vibration pattern you’ve created, tap on Save in the top right corner. Enter a name for your vibration and press Save again. Now tap on Done in the top left corner, and again in the top right corner on the contact’s main screen. Source: appadvice.com/appnn/2012/08/identify-incoming-calls-better-with-custom-vibrations
